Inheritance of securities from a deceased holder's account to the account of his heir or heirs is not automatic, it is executed on the basis of a heir's request filed with KDD.
In accordance with Operations Rules, KDD enters orders for transfer of dematerialised securities to the debit of a given holder when such transfer is the consequence of death of a holder, who is a natural person, on the basis of a final decree on inheritance and heir's request..
In the request, the heir needs to state his client account number opened with an authorised brokerage firm or a bank (a registry KDD member), where the inherited securities shall be transferred to. A copy of the court decree on inheritance, bearing a court's finality seal (original or certified copy) should be attached.
